Perplexity finally added, two months ago, the list of SOURCES used in its API response when making “search the web” type queries. This has finally allowed me to create a Perplexity interface within my “AI Assistants” module that is very similar to the one you enjoy when using Perplexity directly on their website or app.
I’m sharing a screenshot with an example of this type of query:
This is available starting from version 2.1.2 that I just uploaded to Dolistore.
Note: Without intending to advertise any provider, I want to take this opportunity to remind you that the models provided by Perplexity’s API, both for pure text conversation (functioning “solely” with the LLM’s training data) and for conversation with internet search capabilities, are more than adequate for 80% of the most demanding tasks we can ask of an LLM, even in other languages than english.
I also want to remind you that if you’re paying for the $20 USD Perplexity PRO subscription (as I have been doing for a year), you get $5 USD worth of API credits included each month for free. Be aware that this same benefit does not apply to the ChatGPT (OpenAI) subscription.
