Communication Log for Third Parties

Hello everyone. I’m new to dolibarr but have been very impressed so far. Very easy install and lots of options with all of the different modules.

One thing that I cannot find is a way to track communications between my employees and our customers/ third parties.

This is how I picture it working:
Sandy takes a call from contact2 who woks for customer1, she logs some info about the call within contact2’s profile and then asks David to follow up.

David then goes into contact2’s profile and can see the info that Sandy input and can continue the conversation with contact2 without being out of the loop.

Is this functionality already part of dolibarr? I would think it would be as that is the most basic requirement of a CRM.

If someone could let me know how to make this work I would be very appreciative.

Call/Conversation logging is not available yet. I’ve read it being mentioned before but to be fair I don’t know if the developers are working on it.

Dolibarr is an excellent system but just a bit slower in development or being able to customise it. Many times I have thought of changing to a different software but nobody has the same features as a package. Example, I don’t want to lose stock control just for call logging. But then also there is no way or a quick product lookup.

I started on 3.8.0 and I had to keep convincing myself this was the software to use. But with 3.9.0 I am overly impressed on the basics. I just wished the errors were fixed faster and the developer community was more responsive.

Did you try the ‘Projects/Opportunities/Leads’ for following up your leads.

I’ll look into that package and see if it will do what I need. Thanks.

Something I’m missing too.

The Notes are only stored alongside the item (eg. Product, Project, Task and/or Lead, ThirdParty) - NOT as records in ONE database table.

So they are neither searchable nor really multi-user.

The really PITA: Everyone having access can delete ALL Notes for that item entered before …

I doubt that it would be easy to implement something like “Comments Module” as in Vtiger CRM because of the different design of Dolibarr.

Creating a linked event from the card has solved this issue for me on 4.0.2
