Manufacturing BOM non stock item attachment

Hi

Can someone please advise whether Dolibarr has this particular functionality which I require for my manufacturing business:

- I need to setup standard BOM items for manufactured products
- The BOM will consist of stock items and ALSO non-stock items (basically manufacturing drawing or specification which is complex)
- Can the sales order or BOM allow a drawing to be attached to a non stock item AND can it print the attachment (specification) for the factory to receive to initiate the manufacturing process? This part is critical for my business, the manufacturing documentation and drawings are controlled by administration and issued with the sales order to the factory to initiate manufacturing.

Can this Dolibar carry out this process?

Regards

Hi adac,
Please take a look here: Materials Resources Planning

The MRP features are still in development and they are not available as stable modules within the last version, but I expert to be released very soon.

You can attach every file format you need to a sales order or other types of documents that Dolibarr supported. I suggest you to give it a try and once you understand the workflow in Dolibarr the modules you need will be available.

Hope I help

I have found that there is a kit functionality for a manufactured product, however on the Virtual product TAB, the area where I should be able to add Child input product is blank or greyed out. Have I missed a setup step to fully enable Virtual products or Kits?

Please advise?

Hi adac,
First you have to have a child products created then you can type the reference as filter or you can directly select a category and pressing the Search button. In the list below you will receive the products / services. Next you have to select the Qty, the option to increase/decrease followed by Add button. That’s it. Now you have a parent (virtual) product with one or several childs.

Thanks, but I cant seem to find how to designate a stock item as a parent or child item?
Is it found on a different tab somewhere?

No, every product / service can become a virtual or child. In your case you are going to create a virtual product that consists of one or several child products you already have as raw material for example.

Thank you, I have figured this out now, I was not searching correctly for the child product.

So now I need to try to be able to print a customer order which INCLUDES the attached image of the child item (separate or additional pages)
- in my case the child item will be a detailed drawing or manufacturing specification relating to the raw material to be processed

Please advise if this has been done before?
Is there and available form template or can you point me to the form editor to see if I can find the database field of the item drawing or image attachment.
