No this is not possible and I am afraid this would cause some extra work handling bill numbering, or to close cleanly source invoices that were merged.
What you can easily do (easy because it is an available feature, but may imply revisiting your workflow which might not be so easy…) is : merge orders in a single invoice (from the order menu => billable orders). You can merge multiple shipments in a single invoice as well using this module :

Otherwise, it is possible to merge the PDF invoices, and you’d have to write a summary to give the full amount due.
