Hello together!
I came across Dolibarr in my search for a comprehensive and inexpensive CRM system. During a cloud test I saw that it is possible to upload own ODT templates for documents and invoice. However, I discovered that it is not directly possible to convert these ODT documents into PDFs in order to send them immediately by e-mail. I saw in this forum that there is a script or an addon (ODToPDF) that theoretically makes this conversion possible.
However, this all seems to be very complicated and not 100% promising.
Therefore, here is my question before I install Dolibarr on my own server:
Is it somehow possible to convert ODT documents generated from ODT templates directly and online into PDFs with my own font (Gilroy)? If so, is there an up-to-date and simple solution for this?
Many greetings,
Samuel
Hi Samuel!
I use Primo pdf to transform all my documents to .pdf, not just those generated in Dolibarr. It installs as a printer, so you just have to select it in the Printers menu.
If I open an odt file it usually opens with MS Word with the tags and not the document itself. How do I convert to pdf then?
Hello again!
I just saw your post. I use Open Office instead of MS Office
Hey @ariffidaali,
so it depends on what kind of overview you want on these documents. For ODT to PDF documents I use online converters. One of them is Converter365 that I use, but you can use any type that you want. You can find it here: https://www.converter365.com/document-converter/odt/odt-to-pdf
These are not complex files so you will not lose any file quality while converting them. Have a great day!
The odt when converted to pdf just converts with the tags not the document. Example: In MRP module there is no option of generating a pdf. So the odt generated will have to be converted to pdf using the online tools you mentioned. That is not practical for the user as he has to convert all the time. But the thing is the odt is directly converted to pdf but with the tags not the MO or BOM document
