Purchase Order

Hello,

i just trying to find out how dolibarr works. Is it really only possible to add a product to a purchase order where there is already a suppliers price for a product ? we do have thousands of products with several different suppliers and it would be a lot of useless work to add for each product prices for each supplier. Do far i could only manage to add products, or even see them, when i have added prices to this specific supplier.

many thanks in advance and best wishes from stormy Hong Kong

During quote time or order, you can add manually items if needed, as well as products can be added without any price, you should have 0,00 in the product.

Many thanks for your answer. But when i , by example, want to look for an item number which contains a 2, i only can see items, where i have already have added a price of this specific supplier, see attached pic, although there are dozens of other products starting with or containing a ‘2’, but these are not shown in the list and i can’t add one of these or only if i use as a free text position, but why should i want to do this if this item already exist only no0t with a suppliers price ? if one have products which can be ordered at different suppliers it is very unconvenient first need to give it a suppliers price

have a nice day

Ok I got it what you mean. It is true, in 3.2.0 at least it seems you see only the items which have the purchase price and supplier set up, otherwise they do not appear in the products list.

The worst thing is that if you put your search item in the product search menu (left side) the items without a supplier price appear, but you can not add them to the purchase order. I think this is a regression introduced in 3.2.0 . I’m not sure, but I think 3.1.1 had not the same behavior.

I just checked the 3.1.1 and there it works as ( in my opinion ) it should. The '3.2.0 way’is a little bit time consuming if you have more than 250 products which could be ordered from dozens of suppliers and you have to pricing each product for each supplier.

Great, this means that we have a regression here, IMHO.

This has been fixed for 3.2.1

Nice to hear that Eldy.

:woohoo: you see, not all european regressions are lasting

thx, merci beaucoups, danke, mmgoi

too early too happy. After importing all products and updating the selling prices 3.1.1 shows the same behavior.
I also have checked the version 3.3.0-alpha. At least there one can see all products when creating a purchase order, but the items can not be choosen and there is a hint : ’ no price/qty defined for this supplier/product’.
So definitely only a product where already a price for this specific supplier has be given can be choosen.

Ok this is a strange and completely wrong behavior in my opinion. It would be more logical that you could not select the product which does not have a selling price, and not the opposite.

Anyway the preferred behavior would be to be able to choose any registered product.

i agree

have a nice weekend

This needs to be fixed again. Prices in my industry change all the time (buy and resell) but the product codes and descriptions do not. So being able to add a product that is registered but has no price is imperative. Why does this limitation exist? It doesn’t make any sense. Anyone know the requisite files I need to modify?
